It is said if the women are healthy, the whole family becomes healthy. In Today’s world, the population of women in India is approximately 945 females in per 1000 males of the total population. In Urban areas women are achieving their goals in different sectors and getting the best education, However, in rural areas, the essential need for sanitation and good personal hygiene has been one of the inevitable concerns. Women in rural areas are more prone to severe health consequences such as reproductive diseases, kidney infections and more. Around 70% of such conditions are the effect of adverse personal hygiene and unavailability of good personal hygiene products. Such issues are leading to more horrific implications to women’s sanitation in the rural areas.

The use of such primary products is considered to be luxurious for women in rural as well as some urban areas, even in 21tst century India. Due to the low ratio of the Availability of toilets in the rural areas, women have no choice but to go outside for defecation in the middle of the night often increasing the risk of life-threatening severe sexual assaults and chronic diseases.

According to a survey in 2012, 30%of the women are being assaulted while they relieve themselves in the night outside as they do not have the luxury of indoor toilets said by philanthropic organization ‘Dasra’ in Pune. To diminish the use of open toilets women often eat and drink less to minimize the need for going. Apart from this, constant war for safe water and electricity is not uncommon, and a woman suffers the most during the menstruation.

Although water organization and NGOs working for Swachh Bharat mission is looking forward to bring these problems into an end shortly, however, Question for one’s good personal hygiene could be solved by following few simple hygiene tips in one’s daily routine.

Due to water shortage problems, one can use the products like waterless shampoos and waterless (dry) baths. By not washing the body on a regular basis it may lead to skin infections, trachoma, pneumonia yeast infections, etc. waterless shampoos and bath products can help save water and also helps in sanitation. Even cleaning correctly with cloth or water lessens the risk of skin infection and rashes.

*Advice: try to throw soiled sanitary napkins in the waste bin instead of throwing on the floor it will help keep the areas clean and lessens the risk of any chances of diseases.

Other hygiene tips may also include overusing of sanitary napkins. Due to less flow, women tend to use napkins for a more extended period which also leads to rashes and skin infections.

Use of dirty garments also leads to breast infections and genital infections. One should change garments every day.

Although keeping your body clean every day can help a lot. However, a proper diet with a full source of vitamins and proteins are needed for the women’s body for healthy digestion and proper menstrual cycle.
